Brutal cold made worse by wind

Well we had some kind of a front go through today that brought freezing cold weather and high, high winds.  I could only manage about three miles in it, but was glad to have at least done that.  When I left to run it was about 20 degrees, but the wind gusts were 30 and 40 miles an hour.  I’d be running along doing OK when suddenly I’d get crushed by a bitter, strong wind gust.  It literally took my breath away.  I did manage to get the layering right, so I was warm everywhere I was covered, but my face was in a lot of pain.

I do not want to succumb to running on tradmills all winter, but I should probably consider it on days like today.  If my brain were stronger than my pride, I would have realized it was actually dangerous out there.
